Islam is not a ritual-oriented religion. Islam is a religion of ideology which aims to inculcate the divine spirit in a person. According to Islam, there is no manual or fixed religious routine to be followed in daily life. The Quran’s emphasis is entirely on the ideology, spirit and principles of religion. Islam aims at intellectual and spiritual awakening of every individual, so that he performs every action in the light of that awakening. There is no prescribed structure to be adhered to, rather Islam aims at developing the religious spirit in a person. Man is created with a mind. When a person’s mind is awakened by a spirit, his entire life will consequently be affected by it. All his thoughts and actions will be governed by that spirit.
