Two Types of Jihad

The term jihad has been used in the Quran in two different ways. Jihad in the sense of armed struggle is a temporary target. However, Jihad with the help of the Quran is a permanent target. It refers to striving peacefully for the cause of spreading the message of the Quran to all mankind. The present age no longer requires jihad of the former kind. Now we are living in an age where jihad with the help of the Quran is the only struggle in which the believers must engage themselves.
