The Society of Paradise
The Quran says, ‘Death totally cuts a person off from everything.’ In this world a person has relatives and friends, but death takes him away from everyone. The next verse of the Quran says that after death a person will enter the high society of Paradise. The difference is that in this world one becomes part of a society simply because one is born into it, but after death one will enter Paradise on the basis of merit. There will be four categories of people in the high society of Paradise: prophets, faithful, witnesses for God and pious persons. Before death a person’s society is formed due to birth, but after death one can enter Paradise only if one qualifies in one of the above four categories. Faithful means those people who become true followers of prophetic teachings. Witnesses for God are those who convey the word of God to people.
